Our students and staff have a wide variety of life plans and requirements. This includes the obligation to look after children, care-giving tasks or extra-professional activities, as well as different physical, mental or psychological requirements. We take their concerns and needs seriously.
The University is anxious to provide all staff and students with the same opportunities. This concerns studies and work as much as academic careers, appointments to University executive positions or the compatibility of studies, profession and private commitments. We are active with measures in the areas of teaching, research, Administration and the President’s Board.
Equal Opportunities Service Centre and Special Needs Advice Centre
The Special Needs Advice Centre develops and realises measures for University members with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses. The Equal Opportunities Service Centre advises, informs and sensitises people with regard to all issues in which an equal distribution of opportunities plays a part. It fulfils its functions in the context of the SUC programme on “Equal opportunity for women and men at universities”. Both centres report to the President’s Board.
